a couple of the 50 Greatest Players have dipped there winning minds @ coaching but have come up pretty bad, how come?????? For starters---------%26gt;
-Isiah "Zeke" Thomas: I don't have to say a thing about that!!
-Bill Russell (the greatest winner) tried with the Sonics and Kings and failed, Ironically "Lenny Wilkens" guided Seattle to a championship two years later
-Bob Cousy tried the Cincinnati Royals and failed 141-209 record
-Dave Cowens stint with the Hornets failed but did well with them @ first, 2 50+ season's
-Wes Unseld failed with the Bullets (started out well but just plain failed)
The only 3 good coach's that came out of the 50 greatest List (in my mind) Jerry West (if u know the history behind it), Larry Bird---------at least taking his team to the Finals, and Lenny Wilkins who is the winningest coach in NBA History......but never won a title as a coach??
Why is it that all these greats can't win???
Is Jordan next???
How come Legends don't win?? (did he just say that)?nba champs
dont forget magic johnson who tried to coach the lakers for a year but sucked real bad, i dont know why, i guess some can play but cant coach
and yes, jordan has shown that he is not a good coach by what happened with the wizards and kwame brown
How come Legends don't win?? (did he just say that)?basketball shoes ,nba teams
I believe Russell did pretty well as a player-coach for the Boston Celtics.
Part of the problem is that a coach has to be a disciplinarian/father figure, not one of the boys.
From what I read, Russell used to let his coaches run practices, while he read the paper. Luckily, he had good coaches while he was at Boston.
Michael Jordan couldn't win as a player either (until Pippen came along to lead him). What makes you think he'd win as a coach!?
Charles Barkley would be a great coach. His players would be real hyped up before a game!!
I don't think Jordan would be a good coach at all.
