I have been watching the NBA playoffs and noticed that after EVERY touch, VC runs over to the officials with his palms out and begs for calls.
I have a feeling since his injury to his leg, he hasn't been able to physically dominate players like he used to. So at any little contact, he wants a foul. He front rimmed a layup last night in the game, and yelled at a ref. The replay showed he NEVER GOT TOUCHED.
I used to LOVE VC's game. I have lost a lot of respect for him this post-season. I hope he mans up in the future, and starts trying to put the ball in the hole rather than act and yell like he was fouled.
Why does Vince Carter cry to the officials so much?nfl
I am also a big fan of VC during his prime and the Nets.
This cry-baby attitude is a certain phase that waning stars go through. They were not doing this when they were at their prime but learn this trick to point the blame to the refs. Notice that they only do this because they don't have the energy left in them to finish the play. Instead of admitting their lack of competitiveness, they will call the attention of the refs (%26amp; fans)so that in case they lose, they are not to be blamed.
If you compare VC to the new breed of stars (Wade, Lebron, Bosch %26amp; Melo), you will see the difference. The latter would quickly get back on defense and do their job.
Aside from VC, some of the notable prima donnas who are in this cry-baby stage are:
1. Antoine Walker - used to be the star of the Celtics
2. Steve Francis - used to be the star of the Rockets
3. Allen Iverson - used to be the star of the Sixers
Of course, they become prima donnas because their coaches never tried to discipline them to be responsible and accountable. What makes it worst is that team mates emulate them. You'll notice that Jefferson, Moore and Nachbar are starting to be moaners even though they have not reached their star status.
Unlike MJ, Shaq, Zo, Bird, Grant Hill, Stackhouse, Regie, etc. who were all stars of their teams but were disciplined by their coaches not to be whiners.
Why does Vince Carter cry to the officials so much?nba power rankings ,nba teams
because it works
nothing against our Canadian bretheran and sisteran, but when a guy spends time in a nation where soccar is sorta a big deal, well, bad things can happen. Have you ever seen a soccar player flop? It's pathetic---and a coupla minutes later they are up and running....disgusting...
To be fair, most Canadians are tougher than this---hockey and stuff, and the best floppers have been guys like Reggie Miller and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. But VC is getting older and unfortunately wiser. Flopping works
Any respect I had for Vince went went he confessed to essentially "tanking" his last season in Toronto.
What a fraud.
He cries so much to officials becasue he's a spoilt baby, like many pro athletes these days.
After VC's first couple of years in Toronto, I've never cared for him. He, on occasion, displays flashes of brilliance, but for the most part, he spends more time complaining to the ref, going down with an "injury" and less time focusing on playing the game. He could be one of the top NBA players if he concentraed on the game....
because he's old, and washed up. did u see him choke time after time against the CAVS?
prima donna..loser..doesnt produce in the clutch..so ill whine....typical no carolina prima donna
he thinks he's good but he needs an excuse to SUCK!!!
One simple reason - He's in the NBA. Show me the player who isn't a whiner in that league.
Watch the replays of last night with Steve Nash. He gets fouled, falls to the floor.....Then he flails his arms back as though he got hit again.
*edit*
A spurs fan? You must be kidding, hairy. I detest the NBA. The officials decide every game - they should be called 'judges' instead. The league promotes thug life, then they complain about their thug image. Every player in the league is a whiner. How can you call it a contact sport when there is a penalty for contact?
they are alll little babies!
I think you're right. When he was 100% (and younger) his physicality allowed him to play through the contact. Now the slightest little school yard bump and he wants to take his ball and go home!
Ken must be a spurs fan lol every player crys to the refs even Jordan did it an might have been the worst at it. Cause he figured out if I'm the best player on the court I possibly can get all the call if i cry alittle bit
