No Love for Oakland???

Why do Oakland teams get no respect??? The Raiders, the A's , and The Warriors...between them they have 3 superbowls, 9 World Series, and 3 NBA championships (and 7 of those titles were actually won in OAKLAND)...yet the media never gives them any kind of credit whatsoever. I realize that the Raiders are going through tough times right now...and the A's...well it's gonna be a long season...but the Warriors have turned their fortunes around lately, and they still get nothing but hated on...I mean hell...The City of Oakland has won more pro sports championships than the entire STATE of Texas has...yet they get nothing but hate and ridicule from the media and alot of ignorant fans refuse to give them any kind of credit...what exactly is the reason for that???

Some good points there. I don't think it's just Oakland alone, many out there just don't care about the West Coast in general, and California teams in particular - how many times have you heard the sports media refer to the region as the Left Coast?

How do the fans in Oakland treat their teams? That's the big question...who cares if some hill-jack from the great state of Texas downgrades your boys? Downgrade his and call it a draw...I mean, really, would you think it a plus if everybody in the country got behind Oakland - no matter what the sport - instead of rooting their own hometown heroes??? Where's the rivalry in that? It's a lot more fun for me when somebody says something bad about Cincy (at least in this forum) because you can pull out your defensive guns and explain why your town/team is great to you!
