He's a relic of an era where everyone obsessed about the next Jordan. He's not the next Jordan, he's a copycat punk who's obsessed with living up to the hype. Sure, he's having a great season, but believe me, I don't think he's as valuable as people think. He's not worthy of the MVP when it clearly should go to either Kevin Garnett, Chris Paul, Chauncey Billups or someone else. In fact, why argue, Garnett definitely earned it, Paul is definitely second, why give it to that idiot Kobe? Because he plays like Jordan? Whatever. I see what the NBA's priorities are. Just another pissed off Laker hater! The numbers don't lie, look at his stats...25 points per game career average 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists for his career and he's played close to 900 games and he's not even 30 years old yet. Plus his first two years in LA, he played sparingly (less than 15 minutes per game). We all know he is the games most prolific scorer, but his defense is something that's not talked about enough because of how great his offensive game is. Also, nutrition, athleticism, and sports science have improved the quality of athletes since Jordan's era. Guys like Craig Ehlo were guarding Jordan. Look at the athletes that guard Kobe?

I so agree with you. he is much over rated, over hyped, over glorified, and gets way too much print. He is NOT MVP material. The media makes him out to be a martyr or something, and that he deserves the award. MVP is most valuable to hsi team. Was he MVP when Lakers had won just 40 games? What si the difference from that season and this? I will tell you. It sure isnt due to Kobe. He was and is The Lakers, regrettably. It's not that the media think he is worthy is more that they just figure he is due from his contribution to the league. It is really a shame that the city will only be left with the Mariners and the Seahawks. The Key Arena, where the Sonics currently play, is a nice arena, seating 17,000, but is the smallest arena in the NBA and is outdated, built in 1962, but renovated in 1995. I guess the Sonics lose like 20 million a year or something, and the city doesn't want to put another 100-200 million into the Key to renovate it again, when they are still paying on the first renovation, and the city doesn't want to build another arena. That's why I'm saying, one of the high-tech billionaires should save the day. Like Superman. What do you think?

The Spurs will also get the Rockets' second-round pick in 2009, San Antonio said in a statement Thursday night.

Spanoulis, who averaged 2.7 points in 31 games as a rookie last year, has said he didn't want to return to the Rockets because he was homesick and wanted to remain in his native Greece.

Butler played in 11 games for the Spurs last year, averaging 3.7 points.

Scola averaged 15.5 points, 5.9 rebound and 2.2 assists for Tau Ceramica in the Euroleague this season.

i think that this is a good move for the spurs, i think it will help in developing there team even more in the long run as i believe that spanoulis will want to play for spurs and will be a very successful player...

Just as a note: The Spurs haven't signed Spanoulis, he was already under contract, signed by the Rockets last year with another year left on his contract. They traded for his contract, giving up the rights to Luis Scola, who also doesn't want to play here, and Jackie Butler, who has a cool looking beard, but won't really be noticed as missing from the NBA champs. Butler will help as a backup in Houston, but is not a future star by any means, and he can probably be replaced by the second rounder the Spurs are getting next year.

My guess is the Spurs will let Spanoulis out of his contract for future considerations from some European team, such as a lower buyout price for one of the other players in Europe that haven't come over here yet. Possibly Robertas Javtokas, who was playing for a Greek team, Panathinaikos, last I heard.

butler didn't contribute much to the spurs campaign last season so i think it's a good move. spanoulis is a good player a good back-up for bruce bowen since there are no legitimate small forwards aside from bowen.

If San Jose Colorado and or the Rangers go down 3 games to 0 which one has the best chance at coming back to win it all?

Or do you think the NBA Phoenix Suns have a better chance at coming back to win it all from 3 to 0 down than those teams in hockey?

Right now Im pissed that the Suns are still alive since as a Coyotes fan I want by next season to have the Coyotes as the talk of the state than the collasping Suns. Provided the Dbacks have a bad playoff. Yes the Coyotes were the big thing in AZ when they were winning in the later 90s and the Suns were losers. I rather see any of those hockey teams do it but hopefully don't go down 3 to 0 but all that I fear now seems inevitable.

SJ is against a very confident Dallas squad that knows how to control the puck effectively and Turco has been remarkable.

Colorado has faced a Detroit team that has dominated the series and are feeling even better with Osgood in net.

Rangers are against a young Pittsburgh squad that scores goals as easily as they can give them up. Lundqvist has been the best goalie of these 3 teams and if your goalie is up to the task, then you certainly stand a better shot than one thats not.
Of those 3 teams, I think the Rangers have the best chance, followed VERY closely by the Sharks. The Avalanche are the most overmatched, Dallas is hot but beatable, and the Rangers are so evenly matched with Pittsburgh that I see this as a series where the home team wins on home ice except that Lundqvist steals one for the Blueshirts.
if the rangers hit a scoring run, they would be the most likely, lundqvist is playing exceptional, their scoring is missing and if they start to score, they will be very tough to beat

next, probably the avs, if they develop more hate, they will want it more going to 3-0, and could possibly come back

Avs would have had a better shot if they weren't missing a major part of their team. Forsberg, Hannan, and Wolski were hurt and out for Game 2, and Theodore was sick again with the flu and was pulled a second time. I still don't get why the coaches started Theodore in for game 2 when Budaj played well in the first game and didn't let anything in. why have a back-up goalie if you don't trust him when your #1 is not playing well???
